Alex Duong Passes Away at 42 After Battle with Cancer

Duong died on March 29, 2026, at St John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California, after a year-long battle with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer. He had been hospitalized with septic shock just prior to his passing.
Known for his roles in the police drama Blue Bloods as Sonny Le and as a writer for Netflix’s Historical Roast With Jeff Ross, Duong had made significant contributions to the entertainment industry. He was also a member of SAG-AFTRA since 2009.
Before his diagnosis, Duong was set to perform across 41 states, showcasing his talent and dedication to comedy. His journey began with aspirations in medicine before he transitioned into acting and comedy.
