Gary Wilmot Joins CATS at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre
“I’m so excited to welcome this astonishing group of performers to Regent’s Park,” said Drew McOnie, the director and choreographer of the much-anticipated production of CATS.
Gary Wilmot is confirmed to join the cast, taking on the role of Gus in this new staging, which begins performances on July 25, 2026, and runs until September 12, 2026. The production is based on T. S. Eliot’s beloved collection, Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, and promises to bring a fresh perspective to the classic tale.
The cast will also feature Rachael Wooding as Grizabella and Jet Yau as Mr. Mistoffelees / Quaxo, adding to the excitement surrounding the show. The press night is scheduled for August 6, 2026, when the production will be unveiled to the public.
CATS follows a tribe of strays and rebels in London who gather under the Jellicle moon, hoping one will be chosen for rebirth. This theme of hope and transformation resonates with audiences, making it a timeless favorite.
