Lakeside Developments: New Projects and Racing Updates
Recent developments at lakeside venues have drawn attention, particularly with the upcoming Lakeside Social project and the ongoing racing events at Q1 Lakeside.
At Q1 Lakeside, MERCEDES BELLE stands out as a strong contender, demonstrating the speed necessary to overcome a very wide draw. This horse is among the main hopes for the upcoming races.
PASS THE PEPPA, who placed last in its previous outing, has shown promise with two placements in three attempts at the Q1 Lakeside track. Meanwhile, FORGE AHEAD has recorded two placings from nine runs this preparation, finishing fifth in its last race.
SWEET TILLY, having won once earlier this preparation at Q1 Lakeside, finished a significant 14 lengths off the winner in its latest race.
In addition to racing, the lakeside area is also seeing new developments. Lakeside Social, set to open in early June 2026, aims to become a casual gathering place for both residents and visitors.
This project will feature a waterfront bar and a curated food vendor park, designed to create a community-focused atmosphere. Daniel Todd, a representative of the project, stated, “We wanted to create something that feels like a backyard on the water; a place the community can truly call their own.”
Located just 42 miles from the city, Red Top Mountain State Park offers a sandy, kid-friendly beach known as Lakeside Cove, making it a popular destination for families.
The Lakeside Trail at the park, which is just under one mile long, provides scenic views of Lake Allatoona, enhancing the outdoor experience.
Camping sites at the park are available for just $23 a night, while cabins and rooms at the lodge range from $70 to $130 a night, making it an accessible option for visitors.
Visitor feedback highlights the park’s appeal, with one stating, “Such a beautiful park to swim, paddle board, or float. The dogs loved the water, too.” This sentiment reflects the growing interest in lakeside recreational activities.
As these developments unfold, the lakeside area continues to attract attention for both its natural beauty and community-focused projects.
