Production Begins for Season 3

Production for Season 3 of One Piece Netflix has begun in Cape Town, South Africa. The series, based on Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga, continues to expand its live-action adaptation following a successful second season.

The original Straw Hat crew returns, featuring Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Additionally, returning cast members for Season 3 include Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra.

Hoover, Manganiello, Abova, and Ramamurthy have been promoted to series regulars for this upcoming season. New faces include Xolo Maridueña, who will portray Portgas D. Ace, and Cole Escola as Bon Clay.

Season 2 of One Piece was released on March 10, 2026, consisting of 16 episodes. The new episodes received a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, with an audience score of 95%. Critics praised the season, stating, “Even after an excellent first season, One Piece Season 2 feels like a wildly impressive level-up in many respects.” They noted that it adds depth for new viewers while providing longtime fans with moments they assumed would never make it to live action.

Season 3 is expected to premiere between mid-to-late 2027 or early 2028. Ian Stokes joins as co-showrunner alongside Joe Tracz, further shaping the direction of the series. Netflix has indicated that the Straw Hats will face new challenges, with two more Baroque Works agents set to appear as recurring guest stars.
