On March 21, 2026, at approximately 5:30 PM, Scarlett Faulkner, a 29-year-old mother of a six-year-old daughter, was violently attacked in Birdhill, Co Tipperary. The incident occurred at the side of the R494 road, where she was beaten by an assailant wielding a weapon while lying on the ground.

Victoria Faulkner, Scarlett’s mother, has made a heartfelt appeal for prayers and has urged the public to remove graphic images of her daughter that have circulated on social media. “Please, I am begging ye take the picture down off your pages… Half of my family wouldn’t go in to see her and my father didn’t see her yet,” she stated.

Fr Pat Hogan also addressed the community, emphasizing the importance of raising children in a non-violent environment, stating, “It is our duty as adults and as parents to bring our children up in a non-violent place.”
