Sienna Miller Expecting Third Child at 44 Amid Age-Related Criticism
Sienna Miller, 44, has announced that she is expecting her third child, a development that has sparked discussions about age-related criticism in parenting. Miller shared the news on social media after an eight-month hiatus, highlighting her journey as a mother.
Currently, Miller has a two-year-old daughter with her boyfriend, Oli Green, and a 13-year-old daughter with her ex-partner, Tom Sturridge. She expressed that being pregnant in her 40s has been a more rewarding experience compared to her 20s, stating, “Having had a baby at 29, and then having a baby at 42, and now 44, it’s so much easier when you don’t have the conflict of feeling scattered and like you want to be doing X, Y, Z.”
Miller’s perspective on motherhood has evolved significantly over the years. She believes that by the time women reach 40, they possess a clearer understanding of themselves and are less concerned about others’ opinions. “I kind of know who I am. I don’t really give a s*** about what anyone else thinks,” she remarked.
Despite the societal scrutiny surrounding older motherhood, Miller challenges the narrative by questioning why men are not judged similarly. “We don’t judge men who are having kids in their 80s. Why on earth is there any sort of narrative?” she stated, emphasizing the double standards in societal expectations.
Miller’s journey to motherhood has not been without its challenges. She froze her eggs in her late 30s but ultimately did not use them. Reflecting on her experiences, she noted, “I was really fortunately able just to get pregnant, but it was an existential relief having done that in my late 30s.”
Her recent pregnancy news comes on the heels of her acclaimed performance in the film ‘Horizon: An American Saga,’ where her portrayal was praised for its depth and authenticity.
As Miller prepares for this new chapter in her life, her candid discussions about age and motherhood resonate with many, challenging stereotypes and encouraging a more inclusive dialogue about parenting at any age.
