Arsenal Agree £75m Deal for Newcastle Captain Bruno Guimaraes
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of their captain, Bruno Guimaraes. The Premier League champions have reportedly agreed a £75m fee for the Brazilian midfielder, who has been granted permission to travel for a medical examination. Guimaraes had previously informed Newcastle management of his desire to join Arsenal if a suitable offer were made.

Guimaraes’ Impact and Leadership
Guimaraes, who joined Newcastle in 2022 from Lyon for £40m, has made 195 appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals. His impact at Newcastle has been significant, with Opta data indicating that the team’s win percentage, points per game, average goals for, and average goals against were notably better when he featured. He was Newcastle’s top scorer in the league last season with nine goals and contributed four assists for Brazil at the World Cup in his five starts.
The midfielder’s robustness is also a key factor, as Arsenal experienced numerous injuries last season. Guimaraes has missed only 16 Premier League games since joining Newcastle.
