Will Brazil secure a victory against Croatia in their upcoming friendly match? The answer is uncertain, but recent performances suggest a challenging contest for Brazil.

Brazil will face Croatia on April 1, 2026, at 8:00 PM local time (ET), with the match available for free viewing in the UK on ITVX and on ESPN for fans in the US.

In their last encounter during the 2022 World Cup, Croatia triumphed over Brazil in a penalty shootout, adding pressure on the Brazilian squad to perform well this time.

Brazil’s recent form has been less than stellar, with only two victories in their last six games. Their most recent match ended in a loss to France, where Gleison Bremer scored the team’s only goal.

Conversely, Croatia enters this match with a boost in confidence after defeating Colombia 2-1, with Jhon Arias contributing to their scoreline.

Andrej Kramaric is expected to return to the Croatian squad, which could enhance their attacking options, while Dominik Kotarski’s injury means he will miss the match.

FourFourTwo has predicted a decisive 3-0 victory for Brazil against Croatia, reflecting the expectations surrounding the match.

As the teams prepare for this friendly, the stakes are high for Brazil to improve their recent record and for Croatia to continue their winning momentum.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the final line-ups and any last-minute changes that may affect the match outcome.

Who is involved

As the football world turns its attention to the upcoming 2026 World Cup, Colombia and Croatia are set to clash in a friendly match on March 26, 2026, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. This match is particularly significant as both teams are using it as part of their preparation for the prestigious tournament. Historically, both nations have shown strong performances in international competitions, making this encounter an exciting prospect for fans and analysts alike.

Prior to this friendly, expectations were high for both teams. Colombia recently secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Australia in their previous match, showcasing their offensive capabilities and solidifying their confidence. On the other hand, Croatia topped their World Cup qualifying group with an impressive 22 points, indicating their readiness and strength heading into the World Cup. The anticipation surrounding this match is underscored by the fact that both teams are in different groups for the World Cup, with Colombia in Group K alongside Portugal, Uzbekistan, and the playoff winner between New Caledonia, Jamaica, and DR Congo, while Croatia finds itself in Group L with England, Panama, and Ghana.

The decisive moment leading to this match was the conclusion of the World Cup qualifying rounds, where both teams successfully earned their spots for the tournament. This friendly serves as a crucial opportunity for both coaches, Néstor Lorenzo of Colombia and Zlatko Dalić of Croatia, to evaluate their squads and make necessary adjustments before the World Cup kicks off. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 PM ET, allowing fans ample time to tune in through select TV channels and streaming services.

Colombia’s lineup for this match includes notable players such as James Rodríguez and Luis Díaz, who have been instrumental in the team’s recent successes. Rodríguez, known for his playmaking abilities, will be a key figure in orchestrating the attack, while Díaz’s speed and agility on the wing can pose significant challenges for the Croatian defense. Similarly, Croatia’s lineup features star players like Luka Modrić and Ivan Perišić, both of whom have extensive experience in international competitions and can influence the game’s outcome significantly.

The direct effects of this match extend beyond mere statistics; it represents a chance for both teams to gauge their current form against a high-caliber opponent. For Colombia, this match is an opportunity to build on their recent victory and solidify team chemistry ahead of facing France in their next international break. Conversely, Croatia aims to maintain momentum after their successful qualifying campaign and prepare for a challenging matchup against Brazil next.

Experts suggest that the outcome of this friendly could provide insights into each team’s tactical approaches and readiness for the World Cup. The performance of key players will be closely monitored, as their contributions could be pivotal in the tournament. Furthermore, this match allows both coaches to experiment with different formations and strategies, which could prove beneficial in their respective World Cup campaigns.

As the match day approaches, excitement builds not only for the clash itself but also for the implications it holds for both teams. With the World Cup on the horizon, every friendly match becomes a vital piece of the puzzle in determining each team’s potential success. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any last-minute changes to the lineups, but fans can expect an engaging encounter between two footballing nations eager to make their mark on the world stage.

Compulsory Military Service Returns

Compulsory military service in Croatia is returning after a break of almost 20 years, with around 800 individuals in the first batch of conscripts beginning their training on March 9, 2026.

Of the 800 conscripts, more than half, specifically 446, volunteered for service, indicating a strong interest in military careers among the youth. Notably, one in ten conscripts are women, who are under no obligation to serve, with 82 choosing to volunteer.

The conscripts will undergo two months of basic military training, which will include essential military skills and key operations from Croatia’s War for Independence. This training is part of a broader initiative to enhance the capabilities of the Croatian Armed Forces.

Each year, up to 4,000 conscripts are expected to be called up for training, with the government allocating an annual budget of approximately 23.7 million euros for this initiative. Conscripts will receive a net monthly allowance of about 1,100 euros during their service.

Ivan Anusic, the Croatian Minister of Defense, expressed hope that some of the conscripts will decide on a career in the Croatian Army after completing their military training. He stated, “Today, we are ending but also starting a major project that has been in preparation for a year-and-a-half.”

In terms of logistics, 200 conscripts are training in Knin, another 200 in Slunj, and 400 in Pozega, reflecting a distributed approach to military training across the country.

For those who declare conscientious objection, provisions are in place to allow them to carry out civilian service instead of military training. So far, only 10 conscripts have declared such objections.

Compulsory military service in Croatia was abolished in 2007, marking a significant shift in the country’s military policy. The reintroduction of conscription is seen as a response to evolving security needs in the region.

As Croatia embarks on this new chapter in its military history, observers will be watching closely to see how these changes impact the country’s defense posture and the overall interest in military careers among its youth.
