The original Monarch of the Glen aired from 2000 to 2005 on BBC One, comprising 64 episodes across seven series. The reboot will consist of six parts and is set to air on Channel 5 later this year.

Isla Campbell, portrayed as a high-flying London lawyer, returns to her family’s Highland estate for her estranged father’s funeral. Upon arrival, she discovers that she has inherited a million-pound debt and faces challenges from a brother unwilling to let go of their ancestral home.

The series aims to introduce a rich ensemble of new characters while maintaining the essence that made the original so popular. Brock emphasized that “hope and joy are a currency in short supply right now,” making the enchanting Highlands an ideal setting for this narrative.

The production is handled by Ecosse Films, known for its work on the original series. Filming will take place in Scotland and Northern Ireland later this year, although casting details have yet to be revealed.
