Mò Mò is a new Italian bakery and bistro in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, offering an authentic taste of Italy inspired by owner Leonardo Giaschi’s homeland. The bakery serves Italian-style brunches and Mediterranean sandwiches, catering to the growing demand for artisan food experiences.

Previously, the location was a charity shop, but after its transformation, Mò Mò has quickly attracted attention. During its soft opening, the bakery served 100 people, showcasing its potential to become a local favorite. With a seating capacity of just 12, it emphasizes an intimate dining experience.

Giaschi prepares all food from scratch starting at 5am, ensuring freshness in every dish. Mò Mò also hosts a pizza and aperitivo night on Thursdays for just £29.90 for two, appealing to those looking for unique evening dining options.

In contrast, Peak & Stone Bakery in Chesterfield has established itself as a well-known name since its launch in October 2025. It has won two prestigious awards for Britain’s Best Plain Sourdough and Best Flavoured Sourdough in 2026. This recognition highlights the competitive nature of the artisan baking scene.

The success of Peak & Stone Bakery is attributed to the expertise of Tom Martin, who has 20 years of baking experience, alongside Emily Martin, who has been in the industry for 3 years. Their award-winning cakes include Brown Butter Yuzu and Honey Cake and Spelt Carrot Cake.

Mò Mò’s offering of wines primarily from Puglia complements its menu, further enhancing the Italian dining experience. Giaschi aims to create an atmosphere where guests can savor their meals without feeling rushed—”We want to give people a proper experience and don’t want to rush tables,” he stated.

The growth of these bakeries reflects changing consumer preferences towards high-quality artisan products. As more customers seek out authentic culinary experiences, establishments like Mò Mò and Peak & Stone Bakery are poised to thrive in this evolving landscape.
