Liverpool prioritises Barcola as PSG sets asking price

Liverpool are reportedly prioritising a move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with the player said to be open to the transfer if a deal can be agreed upon. Reports indicate that PSG has set an asking price for the 23-year-old French forward.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool has been leading the pursuit for Barcola since April and is actively working on a deal. The player has reportedly given priority to the Premier League side’s project, provided that an agreement can be reached with PSG. Liverpool is awaiting indications from PSG regarding the price and other details.

Transfer Negotiations Underway

PSG is seeking a significant fee for Barcola, with one report suggesting a valuation of €170m. This valuation reportedly considers Barcola’s age and interest from multiple clubs. Despite the high asking price, PSG is said to be prepared to sell, as manager Luis Enrique reportedly prefers players committed to the club and does not guarantee starting spots.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi is expected to be directly involved in any discussions regarding Barcola’s potential departure. The club’s project is reportedly built on retaining players who wish to stay, making a departure possible if a new contract is not agreed upon.

Liverpool’s interest in Barcola comes as the club seeks to strengthen its wide attacking options following the departure of Mohamed Salah. While Liverpool has already signed 23-year-old Victor Muñoz, there is still a perceived need for additional quality in wide forward positions.

Other clubs, including Arsenal, are also reportedly interested in Barcola. PSG themselves are reportedly looking at other wingers, such as RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche. If PSG were to sign additional wingers, it could further impact Barcola’s playing time, potentially encouraging him to seek a move elsewhere.

Other Transfer Market Movements

In other transfer news, Arsenal is reportedly looking to accelerate talks for Newcastle’s 28-year-old Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. Guimaraes has reportedly expressed a desire for his future to be resolved within the next week, before he returns for Newcastle’s pre-season training camp.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid has set a price of 160m euros (£137m) for 26-year-old Brazil forward Vinicius Jr this summer, although his priority is reportedly to sign a new deal with Real Madrid, where he has one year left on his current contract. Arsenal would reportedly be willing to offer Vinicius Jr the largest contract in their club’s history.

Tottenham are considered favourites to sign 22-year-old Brazil winger Savinho from Manchester City. Additionally, Real Madrid has reportedly agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig’s 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande. Al-Hilal has opened talks for 26-year-old Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, and Chelsea is expected to demand a significant fee for 26-year-old Portugal winger Pedro Neto, who has attracted interest from Liverpool, Manchester City, and Saudi Arabian teams.

Besiktas is awaiting a decision from 34-year-old Egypt forward Mohamed Salah after submitting their final offer, as he is a free agent following his departure from Liverpool. Juventus is working on a deal to sign 25-year-old Netherlands forward Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United. Bournemouth is not looking to sell 20-year-old French striker Junior Kroupi despite interest from Barcelona. Fulham is considered a leading option for 18-year-old Argentina midfielder Franco Mastantuono if Real Madrid loans him out next season. Portugal midfielder Joao Palhinha, 31, wants to fight for his place at Bayern Munich, but the club is reportedly looking to sell him.
