Liverpool prioritises Barcola as PSG sets asking price
Liverpool are reportedly prioritising a move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with the player said to be open to the transfer if a deal can be agreed upon. Reports indicate that PSG has set an asking price for the 23-year-old French forward.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool has been leading the pursuit for Barcola since April and is actively working on a deal. The player has reportedly given priority to the Premier League side’s project, provided that an agreement can be reached with PSG. Liverpool is awaiting indications from PSG regarding the price and other details.
Transfer Negotiations Underway
PSG is seeking a significant fee for Barcola, with one report suggesting a valuation of €170m. This valuation reportedly considers Barcola’s age and interest from multiple clubs. Despite the high asking price, PSG is said to be prepared to sell, as manager Luis Enrique reportedly prefers players committed to the club and does not guarantee starting spots.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi is expected to be directly involved in any discussions regarding Barcola’s potential departure. The club’s project is reportedly built on retaining players who wish to stay, making a departure possible if a new contract is not agreed upon.
Liverpool’s interest in Barcola comes as the club seeks to strengthen its wide attacking options following the departure of Mohamed Salah. While Liverpool has already signed 23-year-old Victor Muñoz, there is still a perceived need for additional quality in wide forward positions.
